Reggie Jenkins grew up in Nederland, Texas were he was involved in music from the age of 11. He played trombone while attending public schools in Nederland and continued his music education while attending Lamar College of Technology in Beaumont. Reggie began singing when he joined the Beauxart Gardens Baptist Church Choir in 1966. Three classmates from the church joined Reggie in the spring of 1967 and the barbershop quartet The Harmony Aces was formed. The Harmony Aces performed from Dallas to Baton Rouge, LA for crowds as large as 10,000 people. When the quartet disbanded in 1972, people were comparing them with The Lettermen trio.

It was in November of 1967 that Reggie first began learning rhythm guitar from his father. From 1970 until 1979 Reggie played guitar with his father, brother and sister at family gatherings. In 1979, he purchased an electric bass guitar and taught himself to play by playing along with recordings of professional bands such as the Oakridge Boys. In 1989 Reggie joined his father as a member of The Golden Age Band based in Port Arthur, Texas.

During the early 1990's Reggie played at jam sessions in the Port Neches, Texas area, where he met and jammed with other local musicians such as Mark Chestnut, Tracy Byrd and Clay Walker.

In 1999 Reggie moved to the College Station area. Not knowing any local musicians, he stopped playing until 2001, when he met the members of Brazos Country Grass. Reggie began attending various local shows and playing with other musicians in the area. He first played the bass fiddle in 2004 and is entirely self taught.

Reggie currently plays with Brazos Country Grass, Before Electricity, The Stetson Trio and various other bands.
